The other NEWPS from NYINC

Well after a couple of hours of sitting on a plane with no pilots, we finally made it back to Houston. These are the other two coins I picked up at NYINC:

1807 GB 1/2 d in NGC66 BN, really smooth surfaces for the grade, I can only guess it got knocked back a little because of some dark toning areas.

1759 Netherlands-Holland 1/4 Gulden in PCGS 65, I just got this one because I liked the design and it seems a good representative design. Nicely toned, decent stike although it is struck a bit off center.

  • Hi JCM

Nice coins u have good taste. Tell me what was the "buzz" like, were people "just looking" in geneneral or were the dealers really trading heavy. What is your opinion on reflection? Is the market still firm/strong? What were dealers saying?

Interesting to me from the other side of the pond

There was a lot of money changing hands both days I was there. I had one dealer tell me the show was OK, and three dealers told me the show was really good. There seemed to be a good bit of movement in coins from $500-1500, and one of the dealers I purchased from Saturday said he had sold all of the new coins that he purchased at the show on Thursday and Friday. The crowds were there both days also, it was a litle easier to move around on Saturday but not by much.

I haven't seen the total auction results yet but based on the number of items I got blown out on I would say it was a very good week for everyone.
