During the show, I took some time and looked at the exhibits. It's always interesting and educational. The winning exhibit in one of the sections had pictures of all the engravers of the Mint. The picture of James Longacre was actually Daniel Boone! (I know because I have Longacre's book -"National Portrait Gallery" published in 1836-1839) I had to write a quick note and inserted it on the case.
I guess the exhibitor saw that the engraving was done by Longacre and assumed it WAS Longacre.
