My purchases at Orlando FUN and NYINC so far, sorry no picsat this time....

Yes, I was fortunate to have left my family and business for one week of total indulgence in coins. Thanks to my understanding wife and business partners.

First I went to FUN on January 5th and then on to the NYINC ( where I am now) on January 8th arriving NY midday.

Here is a summation of my coin buys from FUN. The foreign coin dealers were slim and the coins i collect even slimmer.

1) a gem 1967 canada proof set for $420. What was strange about this purchase was the dealer said he had Jjust marked it down from $450. It is a gem set with beautiful toning on the silver coins. I did not know the gold content of the $20 gold coin but bought the set cause it was beautiful. As it turns out the gold piece has .5287 oz agw. Wow, bank error in my favor.

2) I was at another US dealers table who had a few foreign coins when a rep from Stacks came by and offered him a gem 1932 r 20 lire San Marino crown ngc 65. He offered it to him at $200 and countered at $175. He passed!

I held my tongue and after he walked away I told the dealer whose table I was sittng at that if he bought it I would pay him an immediate 10% profit. He said I did the right thing not butt into their conversation and he walked to the stack's table and bought it for 200 and I promptly paid him $225. It is a flaming gem with gorgeous toning both sides and a pop of 5 at ngc.

3) In the auction at Heritage I bought the pittman 1937 canadian mirror set and the 1834 pillar dollar. Very happy with both those purchases.

4) bought raw what I belive to be gems an 1893 great britain crown and 1878/8 mexico 5c. I submited those to pcgs....we'll see.

Now here at the NYINC I bought 3 gem swiss francs from andy lustig, a 1937b sp 67, 1912 b sp 66, both pcgs and an 1899b ngc sp66) beautiful coins.

I also bought a gem 1866 bb 2 franc in an ogh pcgs 65 holder as well as a beautiful toned ngc 65 morroco crown year ah1329pa. Both those are pop one coin both services.

Well that is it so far...I have my eye on a few lots tonite in th ponterio auction.

I manage money. I earn money. I save money .
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

    Thanks, guys.

I had a fantastic time at this show. The auctions, the show, the venue, the dinners, the parties and the company were all first rate. I am so glad I decided to blow off FUN and stay in New York this week!
