Not sure how many of you already knew about this but I read it earlier this afternoon. As a parent I can' t imagine...

That is a real tear drop type of story but there are worse things in an athletes life.

This kid will get to throw a warm up pass with his Dad to get ready for an NFL start someday..

While this is VERY true; unless you live in the great state of Texas, you'll never really understand..

Think of it this way: Colt grew up in a town of like 500 people, lived and breathed football, and dreamed of one day leading UT to a national championship.

It's extremely difficult to articulate the pressures and expectations Colt had living in the shadow of VY.

I hope he has a chance in the NFL but if not, he's set for life in ATX.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Kinda of off-topic but my half-sister lived next door to the McCoy's for a while. Actually had a conversation with her about them the other day. She said that Colt is a genuinely great guy who actually thinks of others before he thinks of himself. I'm sure he felt the weight of Texas on his shoulders that night...

I read that the day after the game, and I agree it's a very well done piece of sports writing on a very touching story. It was cool to read that McCoy was encouraging his teammate and coaching him on the position, rather than sulking in the corner. It would have been easy to do just that.
