1973 OPC hockey light vs dark back

The 1973 OPC hockey set has two variations of each card. One has a light back, one has a dark grey back. I am constantly seeing in eBay auctions that the dark back is rarer, but am not sure where this comes from.
I have a raw set that is 75% dark backs and a graded set that is 75% light backs. And have never seen anything official stating that the dark backs are rarer. The pop report doesn't differentiate.
Can anyone shed any light on why so many eBay sellers think this?
Thanks, Jim

I agree with 50/50. But I have no idea.
What's your graded set rated Boddington?
personally I like the light version, more like opc...the dark looks like Topps, and I don't like Topps.

I don't have it registered, but I have calculated out the rating. I'm 95% complete. If I finish with PSA 8's I think I'll have a rating of about 8.6 or 8.7. My goal was to have less than 100 PSA 8's in the complete set.
Breakdown right now is:
PSA 10 1
PSA 9 153
PSA 8.5 6
PSA 8 90

Wow, that's really impressive. Will you be adding it someday?
I'm just wondering because I'm at #2... for now. I know for sure that I won't make it to #1.
Maybe when I get all my 73s together I can see about making you a mutually benificial deal.
