Looking forward to doing it again next week at Cincinatti....doubt it will be this easy, but if we can run the ball and control the line of scrimmage and play great D, I like our chances! image

The Jets were literally handed a game.

Happens all the time after teams clinch, they rest their starters...I'm guessing you're a disgruntled Giants (or Broncos) fan? Edit: Oh wait, I see you're a Seahawks fan, even worse, LMAO! Seahwaks can't even beat the lowly Yucs and you're taking about the Jets being handed a game? LOL!!

Bottom line is Jets are taking care of business tonight in dominating fashion and are going to the tournament!

    Grote,
I'm a fan of the game. I thought Indy should have run the table. Their loss and the Jets' gain. The Jets may actually win a game in the playoffs.

Even if the Colts had won last week, Caldwell would never have left his starters out there in blizzard conditions today vs Buffalo, where they got waxed pretty good anyway.

One needs only to look at the Welker injury today to understand why teams rest starters the way they do after clinching...

The Eagles will beat the Jets in the Super Bowl.
  • The only way any player from NY or Phil will be in Miami Land Shark Stadium is if they get a personal invite or buy a ticket. They certainly won't be there wearing a helmet and pads - they will be watching just like the rest of us on the boards.image

This is my worst case scenario. I know there are some picking on the Jets but they are a solid running team and have a great pass defense. I told my wife that the Jets would end up beating Indy in the playoffs once Indy pulled Manning out of the game. Hope I'm wrong though.

i agree the J-E-T-S can run the ball and play hard defense with a shut-down corner. i like our chances in cincy next week

Has there ever been a more pathetic backing-in to the playoffs than the Jets this year? How is this team even a "playoff" team? The Colts fold up shop and hand them a game last week, and the Bengals basically did the same thing last night. Prior to that, against teams that were actually trying, the Jets were losing games in embarassing fashion - and Rex Ryan was crying (literally) about it. Sanchez is horrible, so they are essentially a one-dimensional offense.

Reality will sink in next Saturday night for the Jets.

The Bengals had a shot at the 3 seed and did not give the Jets the game. The next Bengals-Jets game will be much closer, but the Jets have a good shot at winning. Mark Sanchez isn't horrible, he's a rookie QB, that played all of 16 games in college. Should be a close game Saturday night.

Typical anti NY bias from Jerry. I was wondering what took him so long.

IMO what was pathetic was how the Jets beat up on the Patsies early in the season.

    16-0 IIRC.

    Now that was pathetic.

Something tells me if these were the KC Jets we wouldn't even be hearing about this.

And if it was the Patsies we would be hearing " I don't care how they got in, they are in that's all that matters'

    Or some BS like that.

The Jets won that first game, 16-9. However, Sanchez threw 4 picks in their next meeting, and the Pats easily won 31-14.

    IIRC.

Makes you wonder if Cincy sat Benson out and planned on losing their last game in order to make the Jets their first playoff opponent, rather than the Ravens.

Do the Vegas Oddsmakers think the same thing?

Actually if the Bengals won their first opponent would be Houston. Houston beat the Bengals by 11 the first time. Maybe the Bengals wanted to face the Jets instead of the Texans? Not sure, but the Texans have a better offense then the Jets, but not as good a "d". Not suprised at the spread, it should a close game. The Jets and Bengals are pretty similiar teams. They both like to run the ball, and play solid D. The Bengals have the better qb, Jets defense is a little better. Bottom line: the game's Saturday at 4:30, we'll see what happens!

Too bad the pats won't be joining the Jets in the 2nd round of the playoffs...wonder what spin Jerry will have then as he's crying in his beer, LOL!!

Edit: A team with the #1 ranked Defense and the #1 ranked rushing offense belongs in the playoffs. Period. And if our QB weren't a true rookie, we'd be a Super Bowl contender.

Terrific and convincing win today on the road against a divisional champ!

Outstanding bootleg call to Keller late in game to set up the clinching score! Outsstanding play calling all game long!

Jets running game is downright nasty and their D is solid and makes the plays when they need to, shutiing down Palmer completely.

Sanchez gets better each week and he manged another terrific game today, setting a record for highest completion % by a rookie QB in a playoff game and he finished with a 139.4 passing rating!

This team is fun to watch and has a lot of heart to reach this point after standing at 4-6 a few weeks ago.

Two more to the Super Bowl!!

I wouldnt get ready to plan a Super Bowl party just yet, Cincy is/was the biggest FRAUD of a playoff team in recent memory. Im not disrespecting your team by any stretch, I think you guys have maybe a teeny better of a chance than my Patriots but Cincy is a complete joke.. just keep that in mind is all.

People said the same thing last year about the Cardinals, saying they were the weakest team to ever even make the playoffs and look what happened. The Bengals swept both Pittsburgh and Baltimore this season, so I wouldn't exactly classify them as frauds..

The Jets and the Bengals are the two worst teams in the playoffs this season - hands down. The Bengals looked awful (Carson Palmer stinks) and the long season caught up to them. Too many injuries on both sides of the ball.

This was like winning the opening round of the NIT tournament. When do the real teams play?

Why throw more than 15 passes when you have two beasts in yr backfield and the #1 Defense in football?

Greise didn't have to throw much with those 70s Dolphin Super Bowl teams either..

Edit: maybe Ryan can hire a "videographer" to roam the sidelines and scout out Indy and SD practices a la NE to help us reach the Super Bowl..

Not to mention Griese was hurt half the year for the '72 Dolphins. The '72 Dolphins had Csonka, Kiick, and a great D. Actually probably most people can't even name more then 8 players on the'72 Dolphins.

Benagls who swept the Steelers and the Ravens had everything to play for and we shut them DOWN.

Sanchez is bad, even for a rookie QB. And for a team with such an amazing running game (i.e. a one-dimensional team), it looked like Cedric Benson was the best running back on the field today. Too bad he was the only Bengal player to show up.

Enjoy it Jets fans. It's been a long, long, long time since your team won anything. I mean, anything at all. So I get it. Enjoy yourselves.

Trnet Dilfer and Brad Johnson called, they want to know who this Jerry guy is saying you need an elite QB to win a Super Bowl.

Sanchez a bad QB? Really? He looked very sharp out there this afternoon, did not make any mistakes and threw some real nice passes when he needed to make a play and finished with a TD pass, no picks, a record completion % and a rating of 140. I know it's really hard, but try not to make such ridiculously biased comments.

And one-dimensional? I wouldn't say that a team with an exceptional running game AND the #1 Defense in the NFL is one-dimensional.

Too bad the Pats are a one and done team this season...I was looking forward to an easier matchup for the AFC Championship.

Congrats on a nice Jets win today. i watched the game and the determination the Jets showed to win was impressive...sorta like Affirmed not letting Alydar go by him in their Belmont, no matter how hard Alydar tried.
