Media reports are saying, it won't be a surprise of course. Mike Shanahan is rumored to be the next Redskins coach.

If Al Davis had anything to do with this--Zorn might get a contract extension and a signing bonus on Monday.image

The Washington Post reported Monday that Zorn and the Redskins returned to their headquarters around 2:15 a.m. Zorn and Bruce Allen, Washington's new executive vice president and general manager, were scheduled to meet at 4 a.m.

Zorn left with a security escort around 4:45 a.m. ET without commenting.
  • You hire a guy as an offensive coordinator, promote him to head coach with no experience, treat him like crap, take away play calling, interview others for a job he still has, suprisingly it does not work out, fire him on return from last game of season at whatever am. And then wonder why nobody wants the job and the money Snyder throws around. Glad I am not a fan of Redskins. At least Zorn apparently left with class, more than I can say for rest of organization that strips every last dollar from fans. Remember when they sued a fan who couldnt make payment on seats because she lost her job. It ends when Snyder leaves.
  • I hope this doesn't mean he is going to charge me for my TTM I sent out 2 weeks ago.

Mike Shanahan flies into Washington on Dan Snyder's private jet hours after Zorn is fired, depending on how the
talks go there could be a news conference in a few days.

Cable's chances in Oakland after a 5-11 season...... probably not too good but who in their right mind wants to
    work for Al Davis?.

The interm coach in Buffalo along with the entire coaching staff were fired yesterday.

Lovie Smith in Chicago is probably safe but will have to let go one or two of his assistant coaches to satisfy the owner.

John Mara rips into how the Giants performed this season and has fired defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan.

Thanks to ESPN and other news outlets for the above information.

You're out of your mind...Snyder wants to win, and has the money and desire to throw it around to make it happen. Davis is stuck in a time warp in the 70s, likely is mentally incapacitated, but still insists on running the team. Shanahan will finally be the coach to come in with the balls to stand up with Bruce Allen (the new GM) against Snyder and tell him to get out of football operations and let the people who can do it, do it.

Campbell will be out, so the Redskins will be looking for a new QB. Brandon Marshall is done in Denver and will be signed in Washington. The redskins will be picking fourth, and who knows, they could trade up to get Bradford. I see the Skins being competitive very soon.

Change the names and you could have posted the same prognosis for the team any number of years lately. Snider ain't backing away, and he still hasn't learned it's not fantasy football.

Shanahan's contract had better have provisions about who is in charge of football operations or
there is going to be problems.
