Good opinion piece on gold

I don't put much faith in most metal gurus. But this guy backs up what he says with easy to understand and mostly logical thoughts. A little less on the metric side, a little more on the SHTF side. Thought provoking, anyway.

Can you post part two? My asylum friends want to continue. I wish I was reading this in 2001. As they say, "better late than never". Picked up 3 Engelhard 1 -0z's and one Panda 1/10th on Friday.

Looks like the author was correct in 2001 when he called the low for gold.

Interesting, I liked the idea of a M.A.D. economic theory. One thing, his Mexican gold buy was certainly no great investment. That return works out to about 8% a year, during much of that time banks were paying double digit interest rates(70's), the stock market was soaring(80's and 90's, even after factoring the lastest debacles) as was real estate, gold only became a winner recently. Hey, if we only knew? What really made sense to me was that gold may not be the best investment, but it's better than the alternatives, which all stink.
