Can anyone tell me anything about this card I won on e-Bay tonight?

Also will PSA grade this card. I would like to add it to my HOF football set.
Thanks,
Tom

  • This seller has been making cards like this for all sports for a few months. I see them all the time in the basketball section. It looks like he puts a penny from the birth year of the player in the card. Obviously his endeavour is quite profitable since it probably costs him about a dime to make them.

Wish I had thought of that.

However, if Doran (heritageaddict) had made it we'd all be applauding the effort. Hopefully you bought it because you liked it. The concept is interesting and you have a nice card. That being said, it will never be valuable and PSA will not grade it.

It does look nice, but if PSA won't grade it I don't have a use for it as I was trying to fill in a hole in my HOF football card collection. Fritz Pollard dosen't have a RC and this was the only card I saw for him that wasn't a '05 Topps HOF card.

It's not a fake, because there wasn't a real card ever issued. It's a modern fantasy card.
If the seller were really enterprising, he would seek to have these cards checklisted by Beckett and SCD a la some of the Fritsch and TCMA fantasy sets from the late '70s and early '80s.
    Then PSA would grade it.

In the meantime, go with the 2005 Topps or Topps Chrome.

I've looked at his cards too. Valuable? No. But attractive? Yes. I'll probably grab a couple at some point just because they are good looking cards. The penny is from the player's first year in the league.

I asked the seller for a refund and he gave me one.
I wish PSA would grade the card because I think it looks cool and it would look nice in my set.
Most of the HOFers without RCs only have cheaps cards for them.
I will admit I was fooled, I thought the card was older.
