A seller can't really neg a buyer. A seller can only leave postive feedback with a less than positive statement. There is no longer an option for chosing a negative,,,,, which really suxs image

What happened? I think you should lay out the details and let The Forum deceide if a Negative is warranted.

Well as most people have learned all you have to do if you paid via PayPal is file a "significiantly not as described" claim and you will get your money back.

There is no such thing as no returns if you paid via PayPal.

Make sure you return the item with delivery tracking as required by PayPal . It won't take long for PayPal to deceide,,,,, just be patient and wait until you get your refund.

Delivery conf under $250,,,,,, SIGNATURE Conf $250 and over.

Just had a buyer file a "significantly not as described" claim on a $10k purchase and paypal sided with me. I don't know how paypal would deal with an ebay return privalege...since that isn't "not as described" they would probably side with the seller. --Jerry

I did not return the item yet, as when i emailed the seller thru ebay, he said he would not accept the return. He replied via ebays email, so I feel this is a no brainer.
I hate having to wait around.

Not sure it is a no-brainer. I don't think paypal is in the business of enforcing all the terms and conditions that are stated in each auction. They deal with "significantly not as described" or "not recieved" and that is it. I would call them and ask what their position is. Good luck, Jerry

I think PayPal will side with you if you state that you are returning the item because it is significantly not as described. In the case of a coin, someone might call it completely original yet in-hand it might be smothered in hairlines. That is an example of significantly not as described. The only negative I have ever left for a seller came when I purcahsed a raw coin and the seller noted in the ebay listing that the wrong reverse image had been used in the auction. They also stated the coin was "spot free and hairline free". Immediately upon receipt of the coin it was obvious that there was a fairly large spot on the center of the reverse. The seller refused to accept the coin and issue a refund. I pursued the matter through ebay and PayPal and stated that it was significantly not as described. PayPal gave me my money back and I left a negative for the seller because all of the seller's communication in the matter stated I was attempting to commit fraud. By the way, this seller stated "No returns" in the auction.

Answer: a negative to the seller will not affect your claim. It will however guarantee the seller won't voluntary refund your money. Just went through this with a seller who tried to get me to cancel the claim (item never shipped, because he sold a coin he did not have) BEFORE he would give me a refund. Once you cancel a paypal claim you cannot reopen it. You can, however change negative feedback, but only if you get a formal request from the seller to do so.

Tom, You give good examples of "SNAD". If Holeinone72 has a similar issue then he should be fine. He should file his complaint focusing on the issue and mention the return policy at the end in passing. However, if the coin is as described and the OP just doesn't like it in hand, then it wouldn't be ethical to make up an SNAD claim. In the case that the coin is as described yet the buyer wants to take advantage of the return privalege (well within his rights) but the seller is renigging on the return, then I don't know what the answer will be but it is a good question.--jerry

Negs seem to only inflame the problem. Be patient and paypal will take care of it for you.

I have the same question. As a buyer I've had some claims with the seller that were all decided in my favor for reasons that were very obvious. Things like description way off uncirculated/proof, seller didn't want to sell coin and didn't want to return all the money. But I'm not sure what your reason is (unless it was posted and I didn't see it).

The pics were not clear, and the coin does not match the description. I figured I would take a chance since the seller had good feedback, and offered a return policy.

Did the seller tell you why he wouldn't accept a return? I'm assuming you asked him if he didn't already volunteer this information.

    LINK???

Sounds like a pretty clear case to me. If the seller refuses the item and you file a SNAD, seems to me you have a case of a double win due to the sellers neglect.

If I was that seller I wold play that game.

Print and save a copy of the listing as well.
