David Hall Flexible Coin Grading Holders, are they rare?

Is there any premium for coins in the old Flexible David Hall Coin Holders?

I have not encountered anyone who would pay any significant premium for an accurately graded coin in a David Hall Rare Coins holder.

These were "holdered" before the grade quailifiers......DCAM, CAM, FBL, FB and so on. You can sometimes find some cherrypicks, if they are fresh to the market. Most have been cherrypicked and liberated from those early David Hall mylar flip holders.

    David Hall Flexible Coin Grading

Is that the same thing as "market grading"?

How safe, for long-term storage, are these flips? I have one myself (a Buff nick), and feel it's very conservatively graded, but am concerned about PVC (though the coin shows no apparent ill effects thus far).
    I'll come up with something.

If I recall correctly, the coins are inside a Kointain holder within the flip. They should be fairly safe from the effects of PVC.

Coins were placed in a cointain then sealed into the flip. No contact with the PVC.
Also extra info is the the certifation numbers pre-date the current registry data base so they do not work in registry sets. This lessons there value in some cases.

So what is flexible? The holder, the coin, the grading, or David himself?

I wouldn't say those holders are truly rare but they can often be tricky to find. They're worth a small premium to a buyer who regards the holders as an individual merit.

In general I approve of the grading standards of those coins and if I come across any at shows I will always take a second, closer look at the coins.
