OK, Who Here is Going to Fork Over $20 For the New Coin World Wrapper?

CoinosaurusCoinosaurus Posts: 9,637 ✭✭✭✭✭
Received my Coin World today in a special wrapper with an invite to sign up for the "wrapped" version at $20 extra/year. Their selling points are that it is more secure and the contents aren't visible to the local postperson.

I don't like the idea, I thought it was a hassle to remove the wrapper, and I want to read the thing as soon as I get it.

Also, without the wrapper I can toss directly into the recycling bin w/o worrying about the extra garbage.

Not to mention that my postperson sees coin related mail pretty much every day and already knows whats going on if they want to.

Some people are very security oriented and would pay it in a minute. I use a private mail box for all business and coin related mail. I think that is a very good idea to offer it and let those who want it pay the extra costs of doing it. --Jerry

  • I may purchase it! I think it would be comforting to know that my Coin World is warm and dry as it travels the world on its two-week journey to my post office box in Virginia.

Coin World is sent to my shop!
The big sign over the door says COIN SHOP!
No hiding that fact, so why bother with the extra money?

I don't receive Coin World (or NN anymore).
But I can see how some would strongly consider this as an option.
I'm sure they are responding to customer surveys, etc.
    which asked about the issue.

Sounds like they are giving you the option, correct?
That's nice to see from a company.

    Coin World blew it.

If security were a concern due to the Coin mag arriving unprotected, you wouldn't be a current subscriber due to their current "unprotected" policy.

If CW offered a "pay a little extra and we won't include the full-page scammer ads," I'd consider resubscribing.

Also, many of those security minded people won't reply to a thread like this...

If Coin World REALLY wanted to protect collectors, they would not let full page advertisers sell cleaned, whizzed and thumbed coins as BU. They really need to clean up that portion of their product!!!

We all should be trying to reduce our carbon footprints. Therefore, I hope that no one signs up for this option.

If this is a legitimate security issue, I think CW should include this option free of charge as a courtesy...but for $14 extra per year?!? Are they smoking dope? It's 12 plastic bags annually for goodness sake!

Maybe for $1/year extra...sure...but $14...are you kidding me?!?

Well, in that case, I'm going to order a double wrapper!

I use a PO box, and they all know what kind of stuff comes in, so I won't be spending the additional amount to get the wrapped version.
