If not trimmed, I would say at best a 7.

Does looked trimmed on the top

IMHO if it makes it into a slab prob a 6 maybe a 6.5

A monster card like that will get NO slider love!
  • Looks like a nice 7.

While I don't think the corners would bring an 8, I do feel strongly about a solid 7 (if not trimmed).

  • its not trimmed (top bottom border seems in line ratio wise), but 7 seems possible on the right day.

That being said, Ive never sent in a card to be graded, so this is basically a waste of bandwidth post.

  • I too think it could get a 7, hopefully not trimmed. Nicely centered.

Its not trimmed. But the scan did make the corners look worse. the top left has some discoloring and I do feel it's a 7.5-8 I sent it to SGC today for the walk through and I should know by thursday what it grades. The color is amazing on this card along with the corners. And the centering isnt to bad I think

The card came from an old man who lives in my city. He has a ton of 1954-1956 cards that he pulled from packs back in the day. Tons of nice stuff!

6 and I too think it may be trimmed.

Thats the first thing I thought just because it was to nice. But Im 100% sure with this card in hand that it is not trimmed. Its a very clean card. After seeing this guys collection and everything this card has only had one owner. And the edges show no sign of trimming. I love this card
I hope they dont give this card this grade. Min I think is a 7, Ill chrack it out if they do.

It's a beauty no doubt, but from the scan it looks like a 7; the top and right edges bother me. May be the scan tho. Good luck!!!

It doesn't look trimmed to me, but it looks OC on the back..I am guessing 6-7?

looks badly trimmed to me, with scissors on top
  • shagrotn77shagrotn77 Posts: 5,625 ✭✭✭✭
If it's not trimmed I see no reason why it wouldn't get a 7.5 (so an 86 or 88 from SGC). Good luck!

Why did you have SGC grade it versus PSA for such a key card?? Just curious as to your thoughts. Congrats on the 7 grade!

I find that hard to believe. Out of the thousands of cards at SGC right now, the customer service rep just happened to have seen your one card and just happens to remember it?

    Not bad. Congrats.

Wow. I can't wait to see the scans of it. I bet it looks great in the black SGC holder. You will have scans for us, right?

Nice card. Quick delivery and everything. You sent it on the 28th. Wow. Did you use Fed Ex overnight.

I doubt it. The card was shipped to Sweden. No scanners in Sweden.
  • handymanhandyman Posts: 5,438 ✭✭✭✭✭
It was mailed out today so I should have it by friday or sat. Ill post a scan for yall. As for the guy knowing about my card he said it was a sweet card is all and said it came today and went out today. He might have just been talking about the grade and card itself. But he did talk to the graders for me as to why they only gave it a 7.

I chose SGC for the Black case and the fact that they are not as many SGC high grades like PSA, and it can always be crossed. Its a very strong card. But I think Im going to have it reviewed at least once.

Ah, c'mon everyone. What's so hard to understand about that?

I call Pam at CU all the time, and heck...I ask her about a card I submitted and she not only remembers the exact one, she knows what grader was assigned it, and she instantly recalls the cert number and not only gives me the grade over the phone, she explains why it received the grade it did! All in under 60 seconds, mind you!

    Handyman,
Are you going to put this card up for sale?
  • I mailed out a 100 card sub today. Customer service said I should have them back tonight.

Not sure. I just got it and I cant wait to get it back.

I sent it one day mail and did the walk through service. IF you did the same then you probably will.
