I've noticed a lot of junky Capped Bust halves selling for very high dollars on eBay lately.

Lately, I've noticed that a lot of raw, junky Bust halves are selling for way more than they are worth on eBay . I didn't actually narrow down the attribution on this coin, but I noticed there is nothing higher than R-4 in the 1819 year. This is just an example:

Any ideas why this coin amongst others are selling for so much? I want to know what I'm missing.

That's not a good pic, but if the buyer really thought it was XF, it wasn't a nutty price. I've seen worse in B&Ms.

only two bidders took her over $72.

here is an R5 the 1819 103 prime with the marrage and the 103A being an R4

No idea why some of these coins are getting such high bids.

Three guys thought this Bustie was a special variety. Me, I don't even look at such bad looking Busties.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

Worth less than $100 in my opinion.
