Are the Montreal Canadians really a dynasty ?

I know, who cares is probably your answer, but didn't they win most of their cups in a league that only
had six teams ? I mean, how can you compare them to the Celtics or Lakers ? Doesn't make sense to me.
Also, there really wasn't a draft back then. All the french stars automatically went to the Habs, right ?

The Xia or Quin dynasties in China are examples of real dynasties (i.e., a family ruling for centuries). Winning three championships in a decade, or whatever, is not. I guess you have a point, but all we're really talking about is whether the term is more grossly misapplied to the Habs than it is to the Celtics or Lakers or Patriots.

they were a dynasty, not "are" a dynasty. They won six in the 70s and I think the NHL had more than six teams by then.
