Grade opinions on this 1878 8TF VAM-8?

Hey guys, I've had this coin for a while, and just took some better pictures of it with my new camera. What do you think it would grade at PCGS? Do you think it WOULD grade with the scratch on the back?

Below the eagle? Just a bag mark, no big deal. MS62. And if the luster is really strong, MS63.

The luster is quite nice...the coin is prooflike.

Yes, it will slab at PCGS.
Grade will be MS63. Only two grade higher.

VAM-8 is very under appreciated in higher grades. I had an MS63 in a PCGS Old Green Holder that I sold years ago. Haven't found another in MS63 since.

MS-62. But a very desireable grade for the variety. The highest grade achieved at PCGS for VAM 8 is MS-64.

Quick question guys. On the submission form there's an $8.00 handling fee that says "Except for free services."

So do I not include that for a CC special submission?

I believe that free services refers to "mechanical error" reholders only.

Hard to read the luster, but all VAM 8s grade 62 with a shot at 63, it seems, and yours looks to be no exception.

That's a nice piece! I have an 8 tail feather PCGS MS-63 old rattler and your looks better than mine, so I'll say 64

I am very sure that PCGS will see your 1878 8TF Vam-8 as MS63.
