So can anyone post large pics of a 1972 P MS65 or 66 Ike?

I am curious what these coins would look like at these grades. I have one which has great luster, golden toning on the obverse and reverse, blue rim toning and minimal marks. Wondering what it might grade.

Some nice Trueview photo's are in those registries.
Once you get the cert number from the trueview, you can go to www.pcgs.com/Trueview/Large/xxxxxxxx.jpg and view to your hearts content.
Above is a 1972 Type 3 in MS66.
Keep in mind that the copper nickel planchets are EXTREMELY hard and often show small annealing marks in the field. The lower grade coins show LARGE annealing marks along with coin-to-coin contact marks. It is very important to distinguish between annealing marks (which occur prior to pressing) and contact marks (which occur post strike).
A truely high grade IKE can have some annealing marks but they are always of EXTREMELY high, undisturbed luster coupled with a FULL Strike.
Here's a 1976 Type 2 in MS67:

Kinda like when I was 15!

Both coins look very similar, with both having minimal marks (and minimal planchet flaws which were not removed during the striking of the coin). The luster on my coin is very nice and when coupled with the golden tone and blue rim toning, it would not surprise me to see my coin garner a 65 grade, maybe even a 66 on a good day. Next time I see 19lyds I will have to show it to him and get his opinion on it.
......just a hair TOO big.
