John Quincy Adams Collection Tag

I bought this a few years ago and it came with the tag mentioning this was part of the auctioning the 6th US President's collection in 1971. Anyone know about this auction or the President's collection?

Interesting tag indeed. He was president from 1825 - 1829, so it was not even minted until after he was out of office. I just read a quick wikipedia article on him and learned that he is the only US president to serve in the US House of Representatives after being president. He served until his death in 1848.

Neat daguerreotype of him from 1847/1848 soon before his death.

Here's a thread from the last time a coin from this collection popped up. Different tag but same circled initials - though yours looks like a different or shakier hand?

Thanks for the link. I guess the only way to verify this is to match it against lot #95 description.
If anyone has that info (which I doubt) that would be great.
    Best,

The MR in a circle could be Mark Rasmussen. Even though he is UK based, the style is not dissimilar and he does sell at the main US fairs from time to time. There isn't anything in his lists to suggest he acquired a run of items from this collection.
