ebay question

Does anyone accept money orders anymore? I thought ebay was supposed to be paypal only. Someone sent two questions asking if i would take a money order. Twice I politely said no, per ebay rules. Today he asked for the third time. I;m partly annoyed right now. But, since I have no bids and the auction ends tomorrow I am wondering if I should give in. It's a listing for 5.99 A&G relic card. What kinds of problems am I asking for if I say ok?

    None.

    Sellers can accept paper-payments - MOs/checks - IF requested
to do so by the buyer.

Sellers cannot - in any way - solicit or encourage paper-payments.

  • If asked I accept them. I haven't had any problems as of yet. Just indicate to them it will slow the process down as you have to wait until the m.o. is received, then need to make sure the m.o. is legit. I let them know as soon as I receive the money; when I deposit the money and when I ship out the card. I usually wait 2 days after it is deposited then ship. I think I remember reading on one of these posts that if its a USPS money order you can cash it right at the post office and know right away if its good.

As long as you let them know going in it shouldn't hurt your DSR's and you can get a sale you might not otherwise get...

    Good Luck

I would gladly accept MO over Paypal. Paypal is the main reason I havent sold on ebay in almost a year.

I am slowly finding other ways to sell the same amount, if not more cards, it just takes a little effort to do so.

You not only are circumventing Paypals fee, but eliminating Paypals SNAD/Chargeback nonsense as well
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
  • I love money orders. Little or no risk for the seller.

Folks who have not yet tried

    ecrater.com

    should strongly consider doing so.

    It Is FREE !

    ........

On ecrater, there is no such thing as a "PayPal SNAD."

Only INR claims are decided by PayPal. DC/SC means
    the sale is COMPLETE.

    ANY payment method is OK.

google checkout seems to be getting much more popular.
