Stolen Photos on eBay

Got a New Seller, using everybody else's photos on eBay. Be advised to
avoid his or her auctions.

I've reported possible fraud taking place here, as I don't think the seller intends to deliver anything. Please report if you agree.

Did you see the same photos on someone else's auction? Just email them both and tell them you like the coin but because another guy (give other item #)claims to have it and you don't know which sellewr to buy it from. The original owner will deal with of the copy cat.

Link on this ebay page to report picture copying. It has to be your picture to report it from this link. On the ebay page click on "Reporting a listing" to get the form to report violation.

Took eBay forever to close this guy down. All his auctions ended yesterday and today they nuked him. Finally!

  • Why are we not just as outraged when someone here post a pic from ebay to ask what everyone thinks of the coin? Is it not the same stealing of the photo? Just asking?

    Glad he/she got zapped.

Agreed. When we copy sellers' pics here for opinions, the majority of the time we are doing so without the intellectual property owner's permission.

I would suggest that before we jump the gun and ASSUME some new seller is guilty of shady if not unethical action that MAYBE the seller has actually asked permission
to use pictures of coins won because 1) said seller MAY not yet own a good digital camera and or 2) maybe the person's skills or lack thereof are lacking and he (or she)
cannot improve on the pics in question. Maybe he doesn't yet have a camera OR if he does, he does not yet posess skills to show the coins in favorable light.

Just food for thought and entirely possible. I would submit that prior to blasting such a seller, contact the owner of the pics to see if the guy has permission to use them.

    I don't know - I'm just sayin' .... it IS possible!image
