Interview with Mike Aronstein, Founder of TCMA

Hey folks, hope all is well. I do not have a link on the site ready for this but I wanted to go ahead and let you all see my recent interview with Mike Aronstein. At the end of the interview is a link for an image gallery of scans Mike provided. The scans show ads for various TCMA sets as well as a letter from TCMA to a team with the agreement to produce the sets. Enjoy!

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

I met Tom Collier of TCMA several years ago when he lived in west Tennessee. He lived in Vale, Tennessee, a crossroads-type town. He still had a great deal of sports memorabilia that he was half-heartedly trying to sell. I remember the last time I saw him, he said that my fellow collectors who were with me and I had better buy what we wanted because he wasn't going to show it to us any more. I made him an offer for everything that he showed us that day, and he took it. I'm sure he still had much left that we never saw. He would never bring everything out of the back room for us to see. He only brought it out a little at a time each time we would visit.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

Small world. I've spent the better part of three years trying to locate Tom Collier. I just realized that Vale, TN, is a town I pass by at least once or twice a month. Amazing. Do you know how long ago he passed away?
