And for what it's worth, I liked the Frank Zappa quote much better.

Come to think of it, I'm downright irritated since I did submit this for variety attribution as an FS-401 but was told by PCGS that they did not attribute this coin!

My mistake. But at least you got Bugs.
Was this submitted through Teletrade?

Although the Teletrade coin is labeled as "Bugs Bunny" Die Clash, it does not have the FS-401 designation.
I sent my Minor Variety - Obverse Die Clash (pictured previously) back to PCGS to at least get the "Bugs Bunny" added to the label but between the time that I sent it until today, PCGS changed their policy on not attributing Branch Mint Bugs Bunny Die Clashes. My coin now resides in a slab with the FS-401 attribution. Woo-Hoo!
So now I guess it's offical. PCGS has graded their First 1953-D Bugs Bunny Franklin.
BTW, this policy change was not my doing but I applaud PCGS for moving ahead in this area since a clash is a clash and it should not matter whether or not the clash occured in Philadelphia, Denver or San Francisco.

I won the '53-D on TT and contacted PCGS about having a coin number assigned for it. A few days later they contacted me with the new coin number and also added it to the Variety Set. I was very pleased with how quickly PCGS took care of my request! I just have to send my coin in to have it reholdered now.

You must have w-a-a-y more pull than I since I sent my Franky in back on 4/13 and despite my queries, all I got was the "Obverse Die Clash" designation along with a pocket book that was lighter by $24!

I think the fact that it already had Bugs Bunny on the label might have helped me. I also reminded them that the 1949 Bugs isn't listed in the CPG either and it has its own coin number.
I submitted a 1954-S Bugs for a friend of mine a while back and they wouldn't designate it. It may be time to try again.

Oh well, they're all just die clashes "with a catchy name" anyway.

I believe from now on, the 53-D's will only be getting an "FS402 OBV Die Clash" label, so the FS401 Bugs Bunny labeled coins ... they won't be making any more.
a.k.a "The BUFFINATOR"

I'm wondering what will happen with the Registry Sets with regards to this. There's two coin numbers for the "Obv Die Clash" which I think will make this even more confusing. There's an FS-401 ODC (509930, 509931) and FS-402 ODC (509932, 509933).
I can't think of a fair solution. If the Bugs Bunny FS-401 is removed from the set it wouldn't seem fair to those that paid a premium for one of these. If they leave it in then those that don't have one will always have a hole in their set.
I think it will eventually be removed if PCGS isn't going to attribute these anymore.
