A SB win is almost a curse any more...

Teams (this year, the Steelers) get fat and content, lose their focus, and end up mailing the season in. Thoughts?

Congrats. The Browns fans have been through Hell since '99 (crappy product every year except '02-'03). I'm happy for you guys.

Where will Joshua Cribbs be next year? How come this dude is only making $600k this year as the Browns BEST player?
  • Unfortunately I know what you're talking about. However, I'll take that 1 Super Bowl Win with 10 guaranteed crap seasons following it in a heartbeat......oh wait, I already have image
  • I'm wondering who Traci Palmer is talking smack to these days?
    Am I speaking Chinese?

The Steelers look like they can't wait for the offseason. Casey Hampton looked like he was rolling off the field (even worse than normal). There's also rumors five of the starters were gambling at a local casino the night before the Raider game. Now I hope they lose out to finish 6-10 so they can pick up some decent OL, DL and CB talent in the draft.

...and it's usually even worse for the Super Bowl loser although so far this season Arizona is bucking that trend and having a decent season.

It's based in simple fact...a team playing 3 more very intense games versus other teams only playing 16 games or a bit more, and those team players getting around an extra month's rest and healing for the upcoming season. Those extra games are brutal especially on players whose bodies are already beatup over the regular season...just makes sense along the other factors that you mentioned.

Did anyone watch the end of the Steelers-Browns game? I was wondering which announcer was saying that the Browns defender should have had the INT rather than batting it to the ground? A player trying for an INT would be stupid. Last thing you want is a ball that is still live; I could just see it bouncing off his hands and a Steeler running it in for the TD. That player was smart to smack it to the ground where there was no Steeler in the area.

Losing Aaron Smith for the season, losing Polamalu, for, in essence, most of the season. Having a horrible play caller as your Offensive Coordinator. Losing that 'edge' after a SB win. Players like Hampton and Farrior getting old overnight. Having a QB thats takes way too many sacks. The list is virtually endless.

I personally didn't think the steelers were that good last year. Both the Colts and Pats were a better teams. The only steeler I would take is #43.
