Sorry, but this kid isn't starting in the NBA only because the NBA kissed the collective azzes of the NCAA and established a minimum age...
Johnnie will be the number one overall pick and will be averaging 18 ppg and 5 asst by next Christmas. How does Calipari do it? First Rose, then Evans and now Wall. That's the three best guards in the country each of the last 3 years!!!
Luckily, he's not 7' so we don't have to worry about Portland drafting him...

And it's a slow pitch, over the center of the plate....

I knew I could count on Boo to pick up on the suggestively subliminal cynicism . . .
John Wall came to Kentucky because of Coach Cal and his dribble drive offense. That is why he gets good point guards. I didn't understand that until he came to Kentucky and I've gotten a chance to watch him. He lets them play. He doesn't over coach. He is a "player's coach" more than any coach I've ever seen. For instance (and I've never heard of a coach doing this) he took Eric Bledsoe out of the UNC game after making a dumb play. After about a minute, Bledsoe said, "OK coach, I won't do it again, let me back in." Cal said, "You want to go in? For who?". Bledsoe (a freshman) said, "Darnell Dodson". Cal said, "OK, go in."
Kids love to play for him, and I can see why. On the other hand, he tells them the truth. He has said more than once this year, "We stink." "We've got to do better than this." "We should be 4-5, not 9-0."
Now, if there is recruiting violations and it is Calipari's fault, I will be the first to say that they need to fire him. Until then, I'm going to enjoy this team.
Having said that, I agree with Scott. I've been saying since this summer that John Wall was going to be unbelievable.

Cold, hard cash probably seals the deal.
I'm glad we've got Bill Self, I'm actually glad Roy Williams went to UNC now.
<< <i>This board just seems to hate the best players on my favorite teams. I don't understand why some people can't appreciate good players on other teams that they don't necessarily follow. >>
a) Nobody in this thread has said anything bad about John Wall. Nothing.
b) Your coach is probably the sleaziest coach in the NCAAB. If you disagree, I urge you to find another coach who you think compares.
c) Why is Albert Pujols on the cover of the AARP mailer my mom just received?
Host: Did you enjoy my wife's pot roast?
Guest: Yes, it was delicious.
Host Really, most think she is an awful cook.
Guest: Not at all, I enjoyed it.
Host: Well can I get you anything else? Coffe? Tea? Alka-Seltzer?
Ah, the triple.

a) Good call. I agree. It just seemed like it.
b) I don't really know him, personally. I just like the players that he has brought in. If he turns out to be a cheat at Kentucky, then I would agree. Not sure what happened at UMass. The Memphis/Rose ordeal was not his fault, the way I understand it. Rose was declared eligible, so he played.
c) That's because he lied about his age. He is really 57 years old (and just won his third MVP). I'm sure he'll retire at around age 69 or 69 with 700+ HR, a .330 avg, and 2,000 plus RBI. Of course, some will still say he cheated.
Edited to add - During "c", I sounded too much like Fandango. Sorry, 'bout that.
