Need some help - 1969/1971 Brady Bunch

Had a couple of questions about the Topps Brady Bunch sets:

What is the difference between the 1969 and 1971 set?
Are they the same, just produced in different years?
Are there any other years of Brady Bunch cards?
Are certain years/cards harder to come by?
Was also wondering why there seem to be so few of these in high grade...were they produced in limited quantities?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Good Day,
First, the years are 1969 regular issue and the 1970 Test Set (With much wider distribution then Test usually denotes, not like some sort of thing whaere 3-5 exist, 10's if not 100's of thousands made it into the hands of kids). These are the only 60's or 70's Brady Bunch sets. The 1969 was produced in near normal Topps 1960's Non Sport numbers, if possibly a little on the low side due to non sale/returns back to Topps distributors that were destroyed. The 1970 set was developed a little past the Test set stage, they actually made it into some sort of limited distribution. Whether this was a low print number thing, regional thing or some sort of combo, who knows. These cards, the 1970, are still quite available and sell normally about 3-5 times what the 1969 sell for.
    Hope this helps.
    Neil

i graded a ton of cards from this set at psa prob over 100 and very upset with the grades, then i started buy psa 8 and 9 cards paid as much as $450.00 on low pop 8s and $1000.00 on low pop 9s. so now i'm broke and have the #2 complete set on psa reg last i checked. got really crazy and bought the only confirmed unopened 24 5 cent wax pack box known to exist on the planet.
this is one of my fav sitcoms and gum card sets, surreal to think what this will be 10 years out. i really love the artwork on the display box. i have the set psa gpa 7.58 and full wax box and gai graded display box in my ebay store to raise coin for my mars attacks goal of over psa gpa 8.0. but if one of those sells they're not something i can replace. and i'll have sellers remorse. damn my mars attacks addiction haha

ps psa lists this set on the reg as 1971 but my #2 set has 1969 on them, i still concider this set to be 1969 not 1971
goal is to build my 1962 topps mars attacks set psa gpa 8.25.
  • Thanks for the response, fellas...quick question...

I see that some PSA cards have 1969 and others have 1971 on the flip. Will either flips be able to be added to the 1971 set registry?

    Thanks again.

I saw that on Ebay and believe me have drooled over it more than a couple of times in the past few days. Good luck with the sale!

thank you that set is very special to me.
they sent my #2 1969 topps brady psa gpa 7.58 set with the 1969 flip to the 1971 on the psa reg, so no worries if flip says 1969.
