New Farthing pickup.....

The coin is showing about as I expected. I simply can't get good rendition showing through the plastic holders.

It's heavily doctored (exposure, saturation, contract, retouch, etc.) to try and compensate and to get rid of
the holder scratches.

Even after all that it doesn't show HALF as well as the coin looks. This thing, tilted under good light, is
knockout gorgeous! Guess you'll just have to take my word for it though image

Looks like a nice one (under all that plastic). image That seems to be the trick with PCGS and NGC slabs though, getting past the glare of the plastic. ANACS slabs are a lot easier for me to photograph. You could always crack it out and get a good clear shot. I've started using Coin World (or similar) holders so I can pop them out for better pics.

Spray some WD-40 or some furniture polish on the holder.

    Scratches gone (for the picture).

    WALA!

    Thanks folks.

And thanks for the tip JZ.

I'm also fooling with reflected light through a glass as I've seen posted
here before, but with my limited abilities and attention span, it's kind of like
trying to rub your head, pat your stomach and whistle Powder River with ball bearings in your
mouth at the same time image

A LITTLE better. At least I was able to get rid of most of the holder scratches, thanks to JZ.

I still can't get the tilt without a blinding hole in the middle of the shot, but that firey red/orange
that shows in the fields on the left is actually on the entire coin. Covered with it but not
catching any light because of the tilt.

    ANYway...

    Getting Better.

One option is to use the angled glass, diffuse the light with a piece of paper, and blanket the coin in light.
It comes out over saturated white, but then you use Photoshop to auto-contrast, and the colors come out.
However, when I do it, the details gets a little mushy.

BTW, I use 'Pledge' on all my slabs to cover the scratches.
