look what came in the mail, ouch!!!

UPDATE:
The 59 Aaron crossed over to an SGC 88, and I am keeping it. I am starting think SGC has more consistent and tougher standards. This card could have been a psa 8.5 or better. BTW the clemente is now a sgc 84 ditto could have been a psa 7.5 or 8 MOO

Won this card from PRE WAR last week. Rollers from the po must have cracked the slab. The card was in two thick cardboard envelopes but: I guess not enough protection. I spoke with Brent at PWWC and he offered (1) a full refund (2) to pay for grading fees to have the card crossover to SCG or PSA. If the card does not cross, I can return it for a refund.

Brent is definitely a class guy, and if I were you I'd pick #2 without question as it is a no lose scenario.

I'd go with # 2 as well if i had to pick.

    Whew! Now that's a nightmare!

What a waste if that card was to get damaged

    Thank God it survived

I too would go with #2, sure looks it could 9

Oh yeah, Brent's a good guy in my book too image

  • You could also just let him off the hook for damage done in the mail. image

    Great cards.

How many sellers are going to give you that option?

A bit OT, does anyone know of bluechip cards that were damaged in shipping? I heard of a '54 Topps PSA 9 Ted Williams that was destroyed in the mail but I'm not sure how true that story is. Any other sad stories?

gemint - I know a modern collector who has received a Kobe Topps Chrome rookie PSA 10 and a Ricky Williams SPx rookie BGS 9 (back when that was a hot card) that arrived badly damaged. Not the same price range, but still serious losses.
