Can anyone explain "bing cashback" in a nutshell? I have never signed up or used this before...

First you have to go to www.bing.com and set up an account. Once you do that, use Bing's search box and:

type "panasonic" (without the quotation marks) in the search box. The first result on the search page should say "panasonic-www.ebay.com" In that same clickable result it will say "Buy panasonic. You may get 20% off with PayPal if eligible."

Click on that result, and it will take you to eBay through Bing's search, and then all the eBay searches you do from there will be under the discount umbrella (for buy it nows only). You'll know you have done it correctly if you see the green cashback icon at the top of every eBay page you visit.

To test it out, find an auction and click the blue "buy it now" bar, it should take you to a page to review your unmade purchase, and above the "commit to buy" bar will be a message from Bing telling you how much you will be getting back from that purchase based on what the percentage is.

    Now get buying.

After I bought my first item, I went back and it was now 15%. I bought my second item, then the search dropped to 8%. I did a few more Panasonic searches and then got the 20% back for my third purchase. I am trying to find 1-2 more cards. Will post the wins later!

If the search doesn't give you 20%, hit refresh a few times and it should eventually.

Its not that - I buy a few things a week and I have never gotten the offer while my girlfriend buys about one thing a month and she has the offer.

I don't know the exact parameters?

But you can only sign up if Ebay offers it to you

I'm assuming it has to do with buying aspects of the account

but I definitely don't do high volume? So not sure sorry?

I know a couple people who got the invite and they only spend about $50 or less per month. I never got an invite. I use BigCrumbs though.
  • I got ebay bucks when I signed up for a new account (not the one I have had for years)... So I get ebay Bucks as well as bigcrumbs back for every purchase.

Here is bigcrumbs site if you want to sign up.

  • FWIW. I use www.ebates.com for cash back. For ebay transactions, ebates pays a straight 2% cashback rate vs big crumbs 36% of ebay fees. For any transaction over about $70, you end up with more cashback through ebates. Plus, it seems to work with my snipe service as long as I place an intial bid on an item through the ebates link.

The cashback rates for other online retailers can differ between the two, you can sign up for both and compare both sites. For example: right now ebates has Dell with a 6.5% rate and big crumbs at 1.35%.

However, you can't combine these with the bing cashback, they're mutually exclusive. So, you would use bing only for BIN's and one of these other cashback sites for regular ebay auctions. Plus, they don't affect ebay's ebucks cashback program. They are in addition to that program. Plus, if you sign up for paypal's visa card, you get 1% cashback when checking out through paypal and use their credit card.
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all "right-thinking" people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.”
  • anyone know how to see the specifics of a sites discount? for example....overstock.com has a cashback listed of 3-15%...I assume that different categories, or different price tiers determine the discount you get, but I can't find that info anywhere. There are several other sites with a range of cashback as well...

Actually, you can use both. Log into Bing, do a search and open the Ebay window. The Microsoft cash back banner will be there. Open another browser and go to Big Crumbs, click through to Ebay and the cash back banner will still be there. Make your BIN purchase and you will get cash back from both. I do it that way all the time.
    Looking for Carl Willey items.

+1 on the ebates + cashback tip. I've been using them together for a week now. add the ebay bucks, and you're at 12% off now on everything with a BIN.
