Houston Show Report & NEWP Medals

I was back at the show today, talked to a couple of dealers early who said it had been acceptable, especially since last year was dead. COnsidering we had a major snow storm yesterday (1/2-3", yes inches) I am amazed anyone got there. It looked like a steady line of people to get in today from 10 until I left at 2. I picked these up from a dealer I had not met before from near St. Louis. I am amazed how cheap these medals are these days.

Swiss - 1886 - bronzed 44mm Battle of Sempach, really nice except for a spot of something on the left of the obverse figure, I think this will be off to NCS to remove.




Netherlands - 1825 - bronzed 32mm Leiden University.




Swiss - bronze 69mm - 600 Years of Confederation - an incredibly large medal

I'm glad to hear Saturday had some collector traffic. Friday was light and most dealers were away from the table watching the snow or checking on flight reservation and the home front.

I was able to take some time and secure some mexican 8 reales from Alex.

Other than that I was fairly conservative and perhaps distracted by the weather.
