2010 FIFA World Cup Draw ... USA plus 3

Like more than half the world - I was watching ESPN for the World Cup draw.
The USA seemed to get a fair draw being assigned to Group C - with Algeria, Slovenia and England.
The Americans will kick-off their 6th consecutive World Cup appearance by facing former rules ENGLAND on June 12th.
Los Angeles Galaxy Teammates Landon Donovan and David Beckham may face off in the ENGLAND v USA battle.
The last time these nations met in the World Cup, the USA triumphed 1:0 - that was 60 years ago !

In other groups - I felt really bad for Ivory Coast. That is a team that could get to a semifinal with the right draw - and now they probably won't even get out of the group stages. Amazingly, one of Christiano Ronaldo, Ronaldinho or Didier Drogba will not advance pass the group stage.
My sleepr to advance to the Round of 16 is Honduras. I also think if Cameroon can finish second in group E and get Italy in the Round of 16, that could be where a big upset happens.

Brazil will always find there way to the last 8. I still rate the Ivory Coast more than Portugal - who were less than impressive in qualifying .... and did it WITHOUT Cristiano Ronaldo in the end.
The Ivorians, with Didier Drogba and Michael Essien, are the hottest team out of Africa.
The range of Chelsea players will be incredible: (and the chances that they meet will be very possible)
ENGLAND - Joe Cole, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole (4)
IVORY COAST - Michael Essien, Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou (3)
GERMANY - Michael Ballack (1)
SERBIA - Branislav Ivanovic, Nemanja Matic (2)
NIGERIA - Jon Obi Mikel (1)
FRANCE - Florent Malouda, Nicolas Anelka (2)
PORTUGAL - Deco, Henrique Hilario, Ricardo Carvalho, Jose Basignwa (4)
BRAZIL - Alex (1)
The ACN is going to stink for the Boys from the Bridge.

Yup - they will be missing some key players for that. But did you see how well Joe Cole stepped in ?
They need to make it to January, when the new transfer window opens. They have there eye on a few strikers.
