How do you crack open a GAI card?

I have a GAI graded card I would like to crack open and resubmit to Beckett for grading. What tools would work best without damaging the card?

Thanks,
Nick

  • If you search past threads you'll find a few various ways. The easiest IMO as lsutigers said...

Break the top 2 corners off using a pair of pliers. Usually the case can be easily pried open with a flathead screwdriver.

I've had good luck clipping off one top corner with tin snips and then prying at the edge with a screwdriver.

When it's out of the holder send it to PSA for it's EOT (Evidence of Trimming) grade. Oh, I'm sorry you're sending it to the other company that clearly allows trimmed cards. I'm just commenting on the companies not you or your card. GAI and Beckett are terrible.
