<< <i>The new website looks good and is an improvement. It has a very pleasant layout and represents PCGS better than the old site. Congratulations.
Now - I agree with many of the posters regarding an "all-in" Club Med package that buys everything for the year. Maybe a Double Platinum album!
Coin Facts looks great but I haven't subscribed and now don't get the intermediate price guide grades even though I'm a Platinum member.
Offer a $299/annual package with 10 free submissions, Coin Facts, the whole shootin' match.
I'll buy it next year.
Edit: The Photograde is a great addition! >>
I really would like to have this type of package too but would only go for it if they made the whole site SPAM free for the full in members. I am really beginning to think of this and many other sites on the internet to be on the par of commericial TV more ads than product.
I really like the Photograde, too. My suggestion for it is to list all of the available grades at the top to cycle to them more quickly. For instance, it could make getting to G/VG a one-click deal, as opposed to the many clicks required to move all the way down, one-by-one.
I second the idea about showing no grades with grader commentary as a great resource. Closeups of genuine/not genuine examples of key dates (1909-S VDB, 1916-D merc, etc.) would be an invaluable resource to go along with it.
When using Firefox (3.5.5), none of the links from the Photograde main page work (http://www.pcgs.com/photograde). They function perfectly in IE8, but not Firefox.

We found a Photograde bug where if you were blocking google-analytics.com (or the analytics code didn't load for some reason) the app didn't work. We just rolled out a fix.
Can those of you having Firefox issues try again (use CTRL-F5 for a full refresh) and let us know if that fixed it for you?

Whatever you did, I can now load the photograde pages with Firefox. Thanks! But now I have another gripe: You include LibNicks, Buffs, and Jeffs among the nickels . . . but no Shields.
Suggestion - Tie the PCGS pop reports to Coinfacts so the pops change appropriately there too (condition census). Is it done manually currently?

Collector of Large Cents, US Type, and modern pocket change.
Good thread. Just had some more time to go through the new site a little deeper. Here's a few of my thoughts:
1) CoinFacts - I used to enjoy being able to click on a coin number in the price guide and get some basic information and a photo, especially for varieties, etc. Now I am frustrated each time I click one and get the link to sign up for the new CoinFacts. I know this is a new venture by PCGS, but I feel as a CC member, there should be a way to provide this service to us. I think adding it to the platinum level at no cost or very little increase would be great, and probably encourage a lot more silver and gold members to upgrade as well. I know I can sign up for a month and cancel it, but that's a hassle just to see if I like it. And if I do, I don't really want to pay another $100 for it each year. Perhaps instead of having to sign up for a month first, PCGS could offer a 7 or 10 day trial to existing CC members that wish to use it.
I may be alone in this, or undervaluing the product, but just my thoughts.
2) TruViews - Thanks for adding the blurb about it being available. I always found myself searching for the announcement thread on here when I needed info.
3) Photograde - Excellent addition to the site. I think the layout of the photos-- three successive grades at a time, side by side-- is perfect for comparing one's own coins. I think this section could be enhanced by adding the key details that the graders look for in each grade (a la the Red Book). Perhaps when you click on an individual photo there could be some additional info underneath it. Just something like "All diamonds should be visible, no signs of wear" for BU Indian Cents, for example.
4) One of my biggest pet peeves on the old site is when I'm looking at the price guide I cannot go directly to the pop reports for the same coin. I find myself wanting to compare values and pops quite a bit. They do go hand in hand, so why two completely separate charts? After looking at the new site, I think it would be great if, in the price guide, you could add another Tab after the grade tabs just for the pops (where it currently says "print grid") Obviously, it would be grayed out if you weren't a member or not signed in.
Thanks for listening, overall I like the new layout and appearance!
Twice today I've found myself migrating over to the Photograde site while following a thread here on the board. I imagine for the more experienced collectors it might not be as big a deal but I say 'Awesome'.
Photograde is also visually delightful. Kudos.

For some reason, some of the text is appearing in foreign characters for me. I was using Firefox 3.0.1, so I upgraded to 3.5.5 and it's still there. Looks fine in IE, though. Anyone else see it like this?

Wow, that's weird. What character encoding is selected if you click View / Character Encoding on the Firefox menu?
Photograde is great. As for the rest of the site, no gripes period.
Now if we can get some collectors and dealers to use the photograde section and find out what circulated coins and their grade should look like. One west coast dealer comes to mind immediately.

Using Firefox 3.5.4 and XP SP2, it looks fine. Character encoding is Unicode.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
When looking at the pop report for washington quarters columns MS69 and 70 are not there. They seem to be cut off. Specifically I was looking for pops on the 2006s Nevada quarter in PF70.

I suggest that a section be added for
'genuine coins' (as coded by PCGS )
with each genuine coin code, a couple of pics with examples, tell-tale signs of problem
this could be cross- denomination showing copper/nickel/silcer/gold/clad
or consistent with a series like Morgans or classical commemoratives
and they're cold.

When using Firefox (3.5.5), none of the links from the Photograde main page work (http://www.pcgs.com/photograde). They function perfectly in IE8, but not Firefox.
For instance, from the main photograde page, when I try and click on the "Cents" link, nothing happens (it loads "http://www.pcgs.com/photograde/#" instead of "http://www.pcgs.com/photograde/#/cents").
Hope this helps...Mike (who really likes photograde, but wishes it would work on Firefox)
As for not advertising TrueView it's very simple - we have all the business we can handle.
