I was given this coin when I was in Europe. Can anyone identify it's origins ?

    It began as metallic ore in the earths crust.

    Looks like a 3rd bronze of Licinius I. Reverse features Sol the Invincible. Rome mint (the RQ in exergue on the reverse).

    edit: found some really good information with your help - the obverse having "imp constantine" and "sol invicto comiti" on the reverse.

    You were spot on with the dates and figures.
