I just realized that I suffered an attack of the whole world is on America's time.

Yeah, I just realized that I suffered an attack of self-righteousness, thinking that the whole world is on our timeclock and calender. I went to kitco.com to see where the spot for Gold/Silver was at and noticed that there was an article referencing the London Market last Thursday, you know, Thanksgiving. My first thought was that the market should have been closed on the Holiday. Then I realized that it ain't no Holiday over there!!!

Just thought I'd share that moment, you may now return to your regularly scheduled unlocked or deleted thread.

I'm often on conference calls with people on the East Coast, Europe, Africa and Asia -- all at the same time!

Trying to coordinate these is a daunting task, all I know is that I'm usually the one who has to be on the phone at 3:30 am.

NO, after all these years......they're still a little pissed about Thanksgiving and the 4th of July......go figure image
  • Actually Al, it's alot like the ever-present notion on this forum... that this place is the center of numismatics... and that everyone in the coin collecting community thinks like the folks here image

I'd venture to speculate that less than 1% of the entire population of coin collectors even know this forum exists... and that's really a good thing, because this place can get crazy enough with just a few hundred folks checking in image
Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free image

Larry, i've said pretty much the same thing about stuff like slabbed coins, the Set Registry and other things we take for granted that the whole world of Numismatics is intimately aware of. it goes unacknowledged, hopefully not because other members think i'm a bit crazy thinking such things!!image
