I just recently realized the ANACS population report contains 3 1970 D clad type B quarters. You just have to know Breen 4431 is a type B. No other dates are included. The grades are 2 in XF40-45 and 1 not listed. I suspect that may be the one with scrtaches that was in the Heritage Fun auction several years ago.
That is my news of the day. Some historical data follows.
The statement has been made that to be valuble, a type B has to be high grade, PCGS attributed with Type B REV FS-901 inscribed upon it. Unfortunately, no clad has receives that distinction yet. PCGS wll not attribute clads. NGC will not attribute type B's. ANACS and ICG have used the Breen numbers instead of type B. ICG bawked because the clad B's are not completly identical to silver B's. However Walter Breen, who invented the term "B" instead of the previous "II", called both the silver and clad versions as type B.
ICG Unc MS64 1969 D and MS62 1970 D Pix.
