1922 no "d" cent

Why is this cent so desired? Did they not mint these in Philadelphia that year? Obviously not my area of expertise, but I'm curious...

The 22 No D cent was caused by a grease-filled die in Denver that year, hence making it appear as if it were a Philadelphia coin. Probably wouldn't be valuable except for the fact Philadelphia didn't mint any cents that year, which makes the 22 No D the "de facto" Philadelphia issue.

Because there's a hole for it in all the albums and it's listed in catalogs and price guides like the Redbook.

Also because it is a cool error that may not have ever been an issue/discovered HAD the Philadelphia mint made cents that year, and ironically, the ONLY year the Philadelphia mint took a wheat-cent break...

Maybe there should be album slots for all other years' no "D" cents . . .

And also slots for no "S" cents . . .

. . . just in case.

It was not a grease filled die, Die 2, the true NO D cent was a die clash and the obverse was ground down and the D was removed in the process.
