There are 4 editions of the book published in 1983, 1988, 1993 and 1999. Which one do you own? Good reference book thru 1999. Certainly, Bowers new Lincoln cent book published by Whitman is more current with recent facts about the coin.

    Steve,
If you collect Lincoln cents and you enjoy reading about the history of the series as well as the date by date story of the coins you will enjoy this book. Since I have concentrated on Lincolns I have just about all the Lincoln cent books in my library. Sol Taylor's story goes back to 1937 so it is interesting reading. Steveimage

Chuck Daughtrey is working on the new revised edition. I would wait for that.

Sol Taylor's guide is more than decent, though I think David Lange's is a bit more comprehensive.

I too await Chuck's updated edition of Taylor's guidebook!

Edited to add: I was a little disappointed in QDB's Lincoln book, not super disappointed but it definitely could have been quite a bit meatier than it was.

I like the "standard Guide" (as ell as the other).

It has several interesting stories with which I was not familiar.
