The legal team at CU should be all over that. The whole thing is bad, but what's worse is that I've never even heard of Blakely & Thornsberry or Devans & Hinckle and can't find anything for them out on interwebs... image

Aside from all of the other obvious red flags, I don't believe PSA / DNA was doing auction letters like that in 2001 anyways....
  • Hey look, they even put an NBA authentic merchandise hologram on the basketball, which makes it even closer to being legit.

Honestly, I don't know how someone could bid on something so obviously bad.

I don't even have to say anything about the "LOA's", those speak for themselves.

  • They revised the description to state:
Revising: This Letter Of Authenticity Does not have a certificate number on or corresponding sticker as this is the earlier LOA version PSA/DNA had before they stopped there services for auction houses. Again it has been certified through PSA/DNA certification process through auction houses before they stopped doing auction houses all together and do strictly mail order & online now. You are more then welcomed to do the PSA/DNA Quick Option for 7.49 and if you are the winning bidder i will take that off the total purchase price. I have called PSA/DNA myself to verify this information and it can also be read for yourself if you google PSA/DNA Auctions LOA. Again if you have any questions, concerns or comments, please feel free to email me before feedback is left as i strive for 100% customer satisfaction. Thank you again for looking and good luck!

just a coincidence that the LOA is on top of thta snazzy color HP Printer...

I have a lot of the real Auction House L of A's, and those aren't even close to legit. If nothing else, the Auction House L of A paper is watermarked.

I have a 2002 LOA and the PSA logo with signatures looks more than a little different. Mine is like a parchment paper, not fresh printer paper.

Not to mention that in 2002, James Spence was the main signer of their L of A's. Was Kevin Low even a member of PSA/DNA's staff in 2001 when that Ruth L of A was "produced"?

I actually got a psa/dna submission back today and it included a (wrongly IMHO but not a big deal) rejected card. I received a full page rejection letter, a first for me. The paper is copier paper, not parchment. This is the bottom of the rejection paper, looks familiar with the exception of the flowing autograph that apparently doesn't belong to anyone.
