question on the professional red book.

.......is the 2010 the FIRST edition, or the second? i've seen some ads that seemed to insinuate there was a copy prior to
2010.

<< <i>the first edition was just printed, so 2010 is number 1 >>
Yup, 2010 says first edition
Unlike the regular-edition Red Book, the Professional Edition is identified only by its edition number.
(The regular edition is identified by both its edition number and also its year number.)
The Professional Edition ......................................................... The Regular Edition
.......thanks for the clarification.
edit...the Pro book measures 11x9...
<< <i>I haven't seen it yet, but you can bet I'll look for it. >>
