Vintage set building question/advice?? To grade or not.

Okay, I'm stuck between sending in 50-60 commons(occasional minor star) for my '67 set that'll grade mostly grade 7 or 8(occasional 9) or taking that $250 and buying one star in PSA 8 or two stars in PSA 7. I still need the "biggies"(Mantle, Seaver, Carew, Aaron, etc.) I already have 30-40 commons/minor stars in 7 or 8. I just want people to know that the commons are NM/NM-MT when it comes time for resell. Anyone understand?? I'm thinking my $250 would be better spend on a big star. What are your thoughts? I want my set to be NM/NM-MT when finished. I already have 3-4 commons in 9 and several 7s and 8s.

Recently, it seems that group lots of graded commons (PSA 7/8) from the 60s and 70s are lucky to recoup grading fees.
For example, a group of (18) 1967 PSA 8 NQ sold for about $110 on ebay yesterday (Nov 22).
For resale, I'd rather see a few (PSA graded) high grade stars/HOFers than 100 graded commons.
