mintmark over mintmark question

Were coins that have a mintmark over mintmark always produced at the mint which has the mintmark on top? e.g. was the 1938-D/S nickel minted in Denver, not San Francisco? And has there every been a coin where the mintmark overliad was where the coin was minted?

Lincolns - 1944 D/S , 1946 S/D, 1951 D/S, 1952 D/S
Jeffersons - 1949 D/S, 1954 S/D, 1955 D/S

And yes, the primary mintmark is the mint of manufacture. The referenced buffalo nickel was produced in Denver.

<< <i>No, the question is what it is. >>
Ain't that the truth.
Did Philadelphia apply the mintmarks prior to shipping the dies to the branch mints or did the branck mints apply their own mint marks?

Now that brings up just how many Phily Lincoln Cents have an S or D added? So then how come there are no D/ or S/ coins? If there are sure would be a tuff one to see.
No. All dies were produced and mintmarked in the engraving department at the Philadelphia Mint. No branch mint was authorized to add their own mintmarks until the last 20 yrs.
