    The FS refers to the Fivaz-Stanton (Cherrypickers' Guide) variety attribution number, and the 1-O-IV refers to the CONECA attribution number.

    FS#1c-014 = The one cent coin fell in the soup (“FS”) on the 14th of October.

    1-O-IV? TIA = The 1 owner (“1-O”) was in shock and had to be given intravenous fluids (beer or soup was unknown) and he had his Toenails clipped In Alaska (“TIA”).

    Well…..it as good as any other guess…

    The 1936 Lincoln FS-014(prominently doubled date/TRUST/LIBERTY) is a naked eye visible variety, that is vastly undervalued. I have examined thousands of circ. '36 Lincoln's and found but one. Too much attention is paid to the other easily obtainable varieties in the series, i.e. the '09-S VDB. IMHO. the FS-015(prominently doubled date) is nearly as desirable. You can go to any major show and see at least a half dozen to a dozen '09-S V.D.B.'s for sale, and not one '36 FS-014 or FS-015.

    1-O-IV is the old CONECA designation.
    1 = number 1
    O = Obverse
    IV = Offset hub doubling type doubled die.

    The 36 Lincoln is one of those years Don that the mint really made things interesting.
    Funny how some years like 36, 41, 55, 72, 95 had their share of doubled dies
    with a few whopping examples, yet most years
    are dry for variety pickers, barring the RPM's of course.

    Then there is the modern crap where you can see a couple of hundred doubled dies every year if you
    crank up the magnification high enough.
    Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

    "Funny how some years like 36, 41, 55, 72, 95 had their share of doubled dies."

    1936 was a banner year for doubled dies-in addition to three nice doubled dies for the cent there are also a very strong DDO and a DDR for the nickel; a moderately strong DDO for the dime; a very strong DDO for the quarter; and an absolute monster DDO half dollar.
