Canadian large cent questions

Does anyone have a pic of the 1894 large 4. How do you tell the difference. Also pics of the 1896 far 6. Thanks for any info.

There are numerous versions of the far 6. The last digit was hand punched into each die, so it's location varies a lot. ICCS used to attribute 1896 far 6 cents, until they realized that several different dies have a wider date. They stopped about 3 or 4 years ago. Here is an example from one of the wider (but not the widest) date dies.

Thanks Bosox. My Charlton didn't list it at all but Canadian Coin News Trends has it listed at a fairly good price. I have one that the 6 is higher then the rest of the date. Since these were put on by hand it makes sense now. Thanks again for the info. I changed my avatar to the 1883cc morgan. Only one of us should have the Canadian Large Cent. You being the expert should have it. Thanks for allowing me to borrow it for the last couple of years.

Nice link. Shows a great shot of how the far 6 looks. The large 4 isn't in there data base yet though. Anyone else have a pic of the large 4? Thanks guys and gals.
