$5 half eagle, just a guess.

I've never seen reeding like that on any U.S. coins. So I guess it is a foreign coin.
    Trade $'s
  • I was thinking a silver rosie. The coin would have to be small for the reeds to appear that large i'd imagine? If it's foreign, well that's cheating. This is the U.S. coin forum... image

    I'll say it's a Liberty half eagle

  • Is my monitor that off that I'm the only one who can see dirty silver instead of gold? lol

Never thought of the racketeer nickel... that's a good one but the reeding looks too pefect to me to be hand cut...

  • Bob's our winner!

Must have been a bit of a job to reproduce reeding.

  • From the edge that reeding looks MUCH better than any other racketeer nickel i've seen. Good job Bob!

    That's danged cool.

I've seen clock gear making machines that could evenly space the reeding as such, but I don't know if the coin would require a center mounting hole.

    Got any more easy ones?

Just looked like a few that I've owned and easy to do if you are a jeweler (I'm not
it's just what I've been told).
