British Medal for show and tell

Picked this up a while back for $20. It is engraved on the edge with Name Unit and Date. It is missing a ribbon I assume. How common are these? Ok I did the show part - can someone tell me about it? Thanks

With an old head Victoria, I would assume Boer War era?

Interesting. And appealing. Looks like good silver, too.

Thanks for the info and link. The date was april ? 1895 (I am at work so I am not sure of the month or exact day). Too bad I am missing the ribbon part. It is silver

I don't think it would be to hard to replace the ribbon, there are sellers and you do have a sample of the color..
