1885 Canadian 5 cent varieties question

I have a couple 1885 pieces as imaged below... one 5 is larger than the other. I have read of an over punch on the 5's but they do not match up with those... any input or direction to attributing these..
thanks

  • Buy a new 2010 Charlton book. It has all the 5¢ silver varieties listed and pictured in the back. I don't have one yet but I've seen it.
The 2009 has the 10¢ varieties listed and pictured.
The values for different grades are also given.

this one is the small 5 (short top) in VG value about $25. I see no markers for the 5/5.

this one is the large or long top 5 in VG value is about $25

Note: the small 5 has higher values than the large 5 in higher grades, e.g. in EF S5 is $500 while L5 is $175.
