    the seller story (grandfathers collection story) and some of the other coins he had going off uber cheap. they garnered some attention from very experienced buyers however.

    I couldn't resist another straits settlements dollar he was selling at the price level...


    we'll see, if they're not authentic, they're going back (I already had contact with the seller and he seemed very earnest, otherwise, I wouldn't have bid)...

    The surfaces look OK in those photos, i.e. not cast copies. Since you have return rights they are indeed worth the risk. Good luck.
