Fair market value for a dug coin?

I recently bought a Flying Eagle cent, in a lot with four other cents.

What do you think is fair market retail, and/or fair market wholesale for a dug Flying Eagle cent?

If my image isn't clear enough, my coin is a little better than this dug coin from sgtriker.com. Both coins are porous from their time in the ground.


What say you? Obviously, many collectors want no part of a dug coin for their collection. Some might think it kind of cool to have a dug coin and would pay something, though obviously not a lot for a coin that is readily available with no problems for just a bit more cash.

Impaired F.E. cents are proliferous in the market. Yours, maybe fifteen bucks to someone trying to just fill a hole in a album.

It it's a rare key date, you can decent money for a dug coin. In this case, I wouldn't expect you would get any more than AG money for it. Most serious Civil War relic hunters have found at least one FE. I've found a couple myself.

Thanks for the replies. So maybe $8 to $15 if buying from a retail dealer, maybe $1 to $5 selling to a dealer if they want it at all. (A good many dealers already have all the problem FE cents they need for inventory.)
