Do you find yourself to be a Magnet to certain coins/varieties?

This is in the sense that in a relatively short period of time (within 6 months to a year) you have located a quantity (3 or more) of a particularly scarce (R5/R6 or rarer) date/variety/die marriage, etc? This is in the sense that you have located the same coin 3 or more times, from either cherrypicking, good fortune/luck, or have a large bank-roll to acquire such pieces.

I'm not necessarily talking about hoarding, but the same general principal can be applied.

Two years ago, and for the next year, I found myself in a position where I acquired 4 different 1807 Bearded Goddesses, ranging from VG to VF-30.
I was interested in Bust Halves at the time, but not necessarily able to afford the rare varieties. I cherrrypicked 3 of these for average prices, and the fourth I paid a high price for it, but still reasonable for the variety, and sold it for a nice profit. I still have an example in my collection and probably won't ever sell it. Why did end up buying 4 of these, because passing them up wasn't an option.

Recently I have come across another rare variety, and currently have two of these pieces. I wouldn't doubt if I ran into a third or fourth example, but it's only been 2 months since I've acquired these two current pieces. (this example is kept vague so that I may cherrypick with less competition imageimage )

So, do you ever find yourself in similar situations, being a Magnet of certain scarce coins?

This has happened to me on more than one occasion, where I've had a run of luck with a particular variety. The one that sticks out in my mind is the 1894 Snow-1 repunched date, at one point I found an example at four or five shows in a row. Earlier this year I picked off two examples of a rare dime variety, and recently I thought I'd found a third , but unfortunately, I just misread a poor photo.

I think to some degree these hot streaks are self-fulfilling, as success finding a variety will encourage me to keep looking for more. I've come to believe that luck is just the crossroads of hard work and opportunity. I'm sure you probably looked at a lot more 1807 halves back then compared to most folks.
