I would say extremely rare possibly 1/1 a board member has it if you want to ask him. That appears very tough

FULL DISCLOSURE- I will probably bid on this card myself, I already have, just debating on whether I will be going higher or not, so don't let me discourage you, I'm trying to give you as honest an appraisal as I can. I am also saving up for a big Disney trip for the kids in December, so if you want it, by all means, don't let me stand in your way.

There was a T201 signed Zach Wheat that sold in the Huggins & Scott April 2, 2008 auction. It was lot #380 and sold for $400.00 plus buyers premium. Zach Wheat, along with Rube Marquard, are two of the easiest HOF'ers to get autographed tobacco cards of. Keep in mind that is relative, as they are nowhere near as common as later HOF'ers.

Here's another signed T201 of Wheat as well. This might be the one from the Huggins & Scott auction, I'm not sure.

the board member selling the one on ebay is schr1st. His name is Sean and he's a good guy, he can probably give you a much better guide as to whether it's a tough card or not.

Good luck if you decide to bid, hopefully it will stay in the CU family (either me, you, or another person that I'm probably sure will bid and if he wants it, then you and I probably don't have a chance anyway image ) I haven't asked him if he's bidding or not.

I got this check for under 100 bucks - but I'd sure like to have a signed T card!

    Very cool.

    TonyC,

Did you win it? I got outbid by $3.18. Not even a full increment over my bid. So close, but yet so far. Oh well, I'll grab one in the future.

Hi guys. Sorry that I didn't respond to the thread earlier, but I wasn't in on the boards much tonight.

While not a 1 of 1, it's certainly not an easy item to find signed. I was listing it for a friend of mine, and was debating whether or not to make an offer outright to buy it and keep it for my collection, but since I already had a Wheat signed 60 Fleer card, I decided not to make an offer.

PS: Thanks for the kind words, Mike!

T201s are not rare at all, actually they are the most common of the T cards besides T206's, T205's.

And Wheat is a very common signature for the era (He lived a complete life... well into the ball point pen era, died in 1972, at 84 years old)

But I guess the combo of the 2 would be rare... I guess, but Id rather have a card based on a real picture of Zack signed (ie.T206) rather than the generic drawing one in T201 that looks nothing like him.

But still a nice item signed well after his playing days.
